Project Wingback

This week has been a disappointment, and I still have yet to find a job! But this has allowed me more time to spend on Project Wingback. Here is an update! First things first, I just ripped off all the old upholstery. I have never done this before, and had never realized how many damn staples can be in one chair! But with a lot of ripping and a pair of pliers(and some beer) I managed to strip the baby.

I began sketching different patterns to use for the upholstery and what color I wanted to stain the wood. I was torn between a rustic white look, all black, or a dark redwood stain.

I ended up deciding on a modern look that would fit my style. I wanted black wood with white and black stripes. I liked the bigger stripes on the red and white chair I sketched. So the next step was to find some fabric. But apparently Albuquerque New Mexico is severely lacking the the fabric department! Once you go Britex you never go back! In the meantime of waiting for some fabric swatches to come in the mail.....I sanded the wood a bit with 220 grit sandpaper and bought some black wood stain from Walmart.

Until next time.....

Here's a completely random video that helps me get inspired and keeps me doing what i love to do! Anything is possible, don't wait until tomorrow, do it today!
